Even though entering their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure direct passage to the knockout stages, especially following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match offered a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season were outmatched against a largely second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
